Review of Illustrator Tools

For this activity we are going to draw this house:

Rather then doing this the normal step by step way, I am going to list pictures and where to use different tools

Rectangle Tool

Draw the background and lock it into place in the layer settings

Create the two shapes

Use rectangles to build a chimney

Use rectangle tools to build a window

Use rectangle tools for the bottom and door

Align Tools

Use the align tools to horizontally align the two shapes

Shape Builder Tool

Use the shape builder tool in order to create a house like front.

Shape Builder tool to create eaves

Use the shape builder tool to build an eave that sticks out

Use the shape builder tool to create a reflection

Shape builder tool to make the window inset

Ctrl + C Then Ctrl + F

Copy these two objects left and right.
Hint: You can use alt instead.

Copy the front of the house using the shape tool in order to make the eaves.

Copy and paste tools to create shadows under the eaves

Copy Windows

Pen Tool

Use the pen tool to draw a roof.

Build the inside of the eave drawing a new shape

Elipse Tool (hold shift for circles)

Draw smoke using circles

Use Circles to make the window

Circles for the bush

Rounded Rectangle Tool

Use the rounded rectangle tool to add texture to your building
